Regulatory Developments in Securitisation Markets

Assessing the outcome of the ECB’s purchasing scheme and developing Basel and EBA rules

21-22 March 2016
Marriott Marble Arch, London, United Kingdom

Why You Should Attend

Regulatory Developments in Securitisation Markets

This marcus evans conference will offer the opportunity to address some of key issues surrounding regulatory developments in ABS markets and how firms should be positioning themselves going forward, such as the ECBs purchasing scheme for ABS alongside the development in other regulations; for example, the Basel III liquidity and capital rules in addition to the Leverage Ratio. The conference will also address the challenge of Solvency II affecting the insurance and fund industry and finish with an analysis of the steps taken by the EBA towards high-quality, transparent securitisations.

Since reaching its peak in 2007-2008, the ABS market is often viewed as a toxic market that should be avoided where possible. However the ECB, as well as the Bank of England, have recognised the importance of a strong securitisation market in healing the European economies and so there have been strong attempts to rejuvenate it, including the ECB purchasing scheme. Nevertheless, the success of these attempts will be tied to developments in other regulations impacting the ABS market and so it will be important to examine how these regulations are changing.
