2nd Annual Optimising Risk Audit

Implement strategies to effectively audit financial and non-financial risk in line with the latest regulatory demands such as Basel III and BCBS239

18-19 April 2016
The Hilton Canary Wharf, London, United Kingdom

Why You Should Attend

2nd Annual Optimising Risk Audit

This marcus evans conference will examine how risk audit can implement strategies to effectively audit financial and non-financial risk in line with the latest regulatory demands such as BCBS 239. Current and upcoming regulation will be analysed, with in depth explanation of what is expected of the risk audit function, how other banks are managing meeting regulatory demand, and what upcoming regulation will affect internal audit. Alongside this, managing non-financial risks such as risk culture and risks entailed with upgrading infrastructure to remain compliant will be assessed.  Following this attendees will have the opportunity to involve themselves in discussion, examining exactly what is the right way to optimise communication between the three lines of defence. An in depth case study will also allow delegates to take away key actionable insights as to how to implement these changes themselves. Finally this conference will cover the age old problem of talent management; how can risk audit recruit, train and retain personnel with the necessary skill set to adhere to regulatory demands?

The influx of post-GFC regulations has led to a vast amount of additional work for risk management bodies within financial institutions. In turn, this has led to a large amount of work filtering down to risk audit teams who have to ensure that new controls and procedures put in place are sound. In light of this, risk audit is only becoming more important. Regulation such as BCBS 239 demands much higher standards from the risk audit function; such as large improvements to RDARR capabilities, and the fluid nature of regulation means auditors have to diversify and specialise in areas not traditionally included in the risk audit function. Risk auditors need to know exactly where they stand in line with regulatory demand, and how they can continue to evolve to meet these new challenges.
