Why You Should Attend

3rd Edition Impact of SFTR on Securities Lending and Reporting

This marcus evans conference will look at the best practises for implementing the SFTR particularly in relation to the reporting and transparency obligations as outlined by ESMA.

The SFTR is one of the most important regulations currently facing the securities lending industry. The rules are coming in with the aim to increase transparency on the use as repos and stock loans, and on the risks around entering collateral arrangements. The final RTS standards are due to be published by ESMA, and the industry is expecting the EU Commission to approve and ratify these between now and early next year, giving institutions around a year to ensure they are prepared and ready to report under these new standards. Institutions have begun to realise the scale of the work ahead of them, and now need to establish a working plan to implement the SFTR and be prepared for reporting by the end of next year.

Key Topics

  • Benchmark SFTR implementation against the standard set by industry peers and regulators
  • Address challenges presented by SFTR’s reporting obligation particularly in relation to the data fields and the reporting systems to support demands
  • See how the obligation to disclose the reuse of collateral will work in practice and its impact on firms
  • Assess how the SFTR fits within the securities lending market, wider global market, and alongside other reporting regulations such as MIFID II and EMIR
